ASA/CRA Super Series 2024 Schedule Features Blockbuster Events All Season

Officials with Champion Racing Association have revealed the 2024 ASA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS schedule of events. A total of nine races across five states include co-sanctioned races with the ASA STARS National Tour, ASA Southern Super Series (SSS), and the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour. Staple events like the Winchester 400, Redbud 400, North/South Super Late Model Challenge, and Speedfest 150 return to the schedule in 2024 along with a first time visit to a revitalized Speedway.

The season unofficially kicks off on Saturday, January 20th with a return to Crisp Motorsports Park and Watermelon Capital Speedway in Cordele, GA for the Protect Your Melon - Buckle Up Speedfest 150. A traditional precursor to Florida Speedweeks, Speedfest begins the 2024 season with a 150 lap CRA/SSS co-sanction showdown. The race is non-points for CRA registered drivers. Last season, Bubba Pollard was a part of eight lead changes before finally taking the lead for good on lap 127 after pit strategy played in his favor. The win was Pollard’s second in a row at Speedfest.

On Saturday, June 22nd the ASA/CRA Super Series goes head-to-head with the Pro Late Model brethren of the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour for the Vandoorn Racing Development 125 at Flat Rock Speedway in Flat Rock, MI. The Metro Detroit bullring provides a level playing field for Supers and Pros to fight for supremacy. In 2021, Kyle Crump took his Super Late Model No.131 to Victory Lane, stretching out a lead that couldn’t be tracked down by Ethan Stadniczuk’s No.20 Pro Late Model.

Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway welcomes the ASA/CRA Super Series and Southern Super Series to the mid-south for the annual North/South Super Late Model Challenge. A 100 lap battle around America’s Favorite Short Track is the stage on Saturday, July 13th. Last season, Stephen Nasse appeared to be well on his way to a win, leading the opening 79 laps. Then, Jackson Boone seemed to have the car to beat but with eight laps to go, suffered a mechanical failure, handing the race and eventual win over to Jake Garcia.

The first CRA Crown Jewel of the season arrives on Saturday, July 20th for the Redbud 400 at Anderson Speedway in Anderson, IN. An original event on the ASA Schedule, inherited by CRA, and now back with the ASA STARS National Tour, the Redbud 400 still serves as a points paying event in 2024 for the regional drivers of the ASA/CRA Super Series. Last year, Cole Butcher was untouchable in the final 93 laps and collected his first Redbud 400 win; only the second Canadian born driver to accomplish the feat.

A newcomer to the ASA/CRA Super Series makes its debut on Saturday, August 17th with the ASA/CRA Super Series and ASA STARS National Tour. Owosso Speedway, just west of Michigan’s Capital of Lansing, welcomes Super Late Models for the first time in CRA history. The 3/8ths mile oval is quickly becoming one of the region’s “diamonds in the rough” after being purchased by Rex Wheeler. Wheeler and his staff have dedicated countless hours and money into facility upgrades like a complete repave, added seating, and new in 2024, a poured concrete infield to serve as pit road for the ASA STARS National Tour and JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour events. Two events were contested at Owosso in 2023 by the JEGS Tour, with Kyle Crump winning his homecoming event, followed by eventual Champion, Chase Burda winning the Masters of the Pros 184.

Winchester Speedway is again on the ASA/CRA Super Series schedule for Labor Day weekend. In 2024, the format changes slightly with the Super Series competing in Twin 50’s on Sunday, September 1st. Additional information including format and prize money will be announced soon.

Toledo Speedway is back with the Glass City 200 on Sunday, September 14th. Making the switch from a 100 lap Template Late Model race and 100 Lap Outlaw Super Late Model race in years past, to a 200 lap ASA STARS National Tour event in 2023, the race gave fans edge of their seat style racing all day long. Jesse Love rolled the dice on strategy and had enough fuel left to lead the final 59 laps and go to Victory Lane in his No.20 last season.

Another Crown Jewel event returns on Sunday, October 13th with the Winchester 400. Another ASA original that became a featured spot on the CRA schedule is again co-sanctioned with the ASA STARS National Tour. Last year, a relatively clean and competitive race saw drama on the final restart of the race when eventual winner and ASA/CRA Super Series Champion, Gio Ruggiero made contact with Stephen Nasse going into turn one. The result was a Winchester 400 win for Ruggiero, and a third place finish for Nasse. Like Ruggiero in 2023, the season Champion will be crowned following the Winchester 400.

The 2024 season wraps up on Sunday, November 3rd with a return to Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway for the All American 400. The points finale for the ASA STARS National Tour also features the co-sanctioning of the ASA/CRA Super Series. A drama-filled event in 2023 led to youngster, William Sawalich collecting his first career win in the famed event. In that event, the STARS National Tour crowned their inaugural Champion, Ty Majeski.

More information on schedules and events for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour, the Vore's Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman and the CRA Street Stocks will be released later this week.

The next event for Champion Racing Association is the Awards Ceremony, scheduled for Friday, January 5th in Plymouth, IN. The Ceremony is open to the public, and RSVPs can be found online.
