United Auto Racing Alliance (UARA) officials confirmed Wednesday that the AR Bodies Revolution body has been approved for competition starting at this year's Bigley Memorial at the Freedom Factory.
United Auto Racing Alliance (UARA) officials confirmed Wednesday that the AR Bodies Revolution body has been approved for competition starting at this year’s Bigley Memorial at the Freedom Factory. The body is also expected to be approved across multiple sanctioning bodies and tracks in 2025.
The history of the ABC Body Program goes back to 2002, when various groups gathered to give the racing industry guidance on a national standard including guidelines and dimensions for an asphalt late model body shape with two body companies.
“Over the last few years, there were changes to the program where one manufacturer was able to continue,” said Ricky Brooks, UARA “We felt having multiple manufacturers was important to continue to create and foster the development of the program. This is no different than having multiple chassis manufacturers, engine builders, shocks, or tire manufacturers. Therefore, the AR Revolution body after years of testing on the west coast and different tracks has been fully approved for competition in the UARA.”
In 2023, a wind tunnel test was conducted by Brooks, driver and car builder, Augie Grill, and Brad Buskirk, an aerodynamic engineer that has several years in the NASCAR. AR was told to make several changes to their body after this test. On July 25, 2024, another wind tunnel test was conducted by Buskirk, Brooks, and American Speed Association (ASA) Tech Director, Freddie Query. After testing the current AR ABC Approved body and the AR Revolution body on the same chassis, with the same heights and greenhouse, were found to produce similar results.
Racers should check with their tracks and sanctioning bodies to confirm their specific roll-out plan for the Revolution body.
