The 2024 season at Montgomery Motor Speedway wraps up on Saturday, October 19 with the Alabama State Asphalt Championship.
The 2024 season at Montgomery Motor Speedway wraps up on Saturday, October 19 with the Alabama State Asphalt Championship, crowning its track champions. The event also marks the conclusion of the Rogers-Dabbs Performance Pro Late Model Challenge, where Pro Late Model competitors have competed at Montgomery, Five Flags Speedway, Mobile International Speedway and Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway.
Currently, 18 Pro Late Models are entered for the Show Me the Money Series 100-lap event. Mathematically, Jake Finch has secured the Show Me the Money title for the year in the Ronnie Sanders Racing No. 18. He'll be hungry to return to victory lane for a second time at Montgomery during the season.
John Bolen currently leads Jim Wall by 26 points in the Rogers-Dabbs Performance Pro Late Model Challenge. Both of those drivers will be at Montgomery looking to wrap up the four-track challenge with a win and a title.
A pair of 35-lap features are also on the schedule for the Modifieds of Mayhem Tour on Saturday night at Montgomery. While the Modifieds of Mayhem won't crown a series champion until Snowball Derby week at Five Flags, they have a tight points battle shaping up where Saturday's pair of races could be pivotal.
Two former series champions, Jeff Letson and Jaxon Bishop, lead the way in the title hunt. Letson holds a four-point advantage over Bishop entering the Montgomery doubleheader. L.J. Grimm sits just 20 points behind Letson in third place, seeking his first win with the series. Jeremy Williams, who will be doing triple-duty between the Modifieds of Mayhem twin-bill and the Show Me the Money 100-lapper, is fourth in points.
Racing begins at 6 p.m. CT/7 p.m. ET on Saturday evening at Montgomery. The Impact Zone Photos Outlaws open the evening's program with their 40-lap feature to decide another tight championship battle where only 12 points separate the top four in the standings. The first Modifieds of Mayhem race follows, setting the stage for the 100-lap Show Me the Money Series finale.
The Shelby Concrete Street Stocks will crown their 2024 champion with a 35-lap feature before the second Modifieds of Mayhem 35-lapper. The Blacksheep Woodlands Late Model Sportsman conclude a big night of racing at Montgomery.
