Mar 16, 2022
This weekend, another chapter will be written in the Easter Bunny 150 history books. Here is a look at the past in one of the biggest Super Late Model races the Mid-Atlantic region sees each year.
- The first Easter Bunny 150 is held at Hickory Motor Speedway in conjunction with the Pro All Stars Series. 32 cars flocked to Hickory as Northeast legend Mike Rowe scored the first win in the south for the Pro All Stars Series. Chuck Barnes Jr. was second and Clay Rogers rounded out the top three.
- The second Easter Bunny 150 goes to Texas driver Rylan Lawler, who would use this race as a stepping stone to the PASS title and a Winchester 400 win later that fall. Ben Rowe posts a second-place finish and Tim Nooner was third.
- 40 cars enter the 2008 race, which sees Corey Williams out run 2007 winner Rylan Lawler. The win by Williams marks the second for Maine drivers in the Easter Bunny 150.
- Another deep field of 30 cars is on hand for the 2009 season, in which Ben Rowe scores the third win for Maine drivers in this race. Jeff Fultz is second and future NASCAR driver Aric Almirola is third. A fellow young NASCAR driver named Ryan Blaney is fourth.
- The Carolina-based drivers, get some revenge as Preston Peltier wins the Bunny over Jay Fogleman and Ryan Blaney. A highly competitive race saw 14 cars on the lead lap.
- Stephen Nasse was the best of the 44 cars that showed up to Hickory Motor Speedway in 2011. Nasse beat 2010 winner Preston Peltier, and Jay Fogleman was third. Ryan Blaney was in the top four for the third-straight season.
- Kyle Grissom wins one for North Carolina over Landon Cling and Trey Mitchell. Grissom leads 106 of the 150 laps on the way to his victory. There were seven lead changes among three leaders, as Grissom also set fast time.
- Preston Peltier leads the final 11 laps to score the win in the Easter Bunny 150, becoming the first driver to win twice in the event. D.J. Shaw is second and Trevor Sanborn posts a third-place run.
- One year after finishing second, D.J. Shaw comes back to Hickory from New Hampshire and beats out Tyler Church and Preston Peltier to win the 2014 Easter Bunny 150.
- Preston Peltier made it two wins in three years and three overall with a win in the 2014 Easter Bunny 150. Tyler Church was second for the second year in a row. 2006 Easter Bunny winner Mike Rowe grabs a podium ahead of his son, Ben Rowe, who is fourth. Peltier led a race-high 123 laps.
- Ben Rowe becomes the second driver to win the Easter Bunny 150 more than once. Rowe leads 114 laps to bring the winner’s trophy back to Turner, Maine. Riley Herbst was second and Derek Ramstrom was third. 40 cars in total showed up for this event.
- Preston Peltier pushes his win total to four in the Easter Bunny 150 as he outduels Ben Rowe for the win in the 2017 race. Matt Craig is third as Cole Butcher and Brandon Setzer are the rest of the top five.
- Marking his second feat of back-to-back wins in the Easter Bunny 150, Preston Peltier pushes his win total to five. Hickory veteran Shane Lee is second and Brandon Setzer is third. Eight cautions slowed the race as Preston Peltier led 83 laps en route to the victory.
- In a race that featured 11 lead changes among five drivers, it was Derek Ramstrom leading the final three laps to post the victory, the second-straight for him at Hickory after he won the Mason Dixon Meltdown the previous season.
- The race was canceled during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, and two events would be set to run in 2021 on Easter weekend.
- The return of the Easter Bunny 150 saw Derek Griffith lead 123 laps of the 150 in the Friday race. He beat D.J. Shaw for the win.
